BLOGSCAN - Data from Key ADHD Study Destroyed

On the Scientific Misconduct Blog, Dr Aubrey Blumsohn posted about the intriguing Gillberg affair. After a key article on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) was challenged, researchers destroyed the study's data rather than letting it be subject to an outside review (although they claimed that letting outsiders review the data would violate confidentiality assurances given subjects.) The principal investigator eventually was convicted of criminal charges in Sweden. Yet these shaky underpinnings of the popular ADHD diagnosis are not well known, and the journal in whom the key article reporting the study appeared has not been willing to publicly retract or qualify it.

  1. I'm not amazed.

Once in a while there are people who don't care about ethics and rules.

    Good they destroyed the data.

They wouldn't have done if the results would have added to the field.

  2. be very careful, pfizer has no interest in your health. Once you are in the pfizer system, they
"OWN" you. did they give you forms to complete? the information pfizer requests also robs you of any and all legal status, now and forever - to include claims by any and all of your family members, heirs (both those alive today, and those who will be born in the future - for any reason - against pfizer. best advice to you is to cease all communication with them. beware of solicitations to "focus groups" under the guise of marketing reseearch. pfizer contracts with "front" firms to trick their patients/research subjects into signing shockingly broad "consent forms". pfizer is not to be trusted on any level.

  3. This is frightening. It's the kind of thing that you'd expect to be going on in a Victorian themed movie. Not modern day real life.
