BLOGSCAN - More Conflicted Members on FDA Advisory Panels
On GoozNews, Merrill Goozner posted about the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advisory board convened to discuss a prosthetic spinal disc manufactured by Medtronic. Two members of the panel have financial links to Medtronic competitors, while one has links to Medtronic. Goozner wondered whether this will remind congress of importance of restricting conflicts of interest affecting these groups that have such influence over the approval of drugs and devices in the US.
